Bird card I received

Here is a wonderful mixed media card I received from Bambi in a swap. Bambi printed the bird and branches on fabric. She then blocked out the background with molding paste and paint. Then this piece was sewn onto more fabric. Thread was glued to the piece to look like a bush or grassy parts. The envelope was also brillantly altered with all kinds of stamps and inks. I just love it. Thanks Bambi.

A few more Zentangles

Just a couple more. I noticed after I loaded them that you can still see my start mark. I usually draw in the basic outline with pencil. Then have fun filling in the areas. I hope my partners like them.

Zentangle or just plain doodling

Doodling is fun. If you haven't tried it, you should. It's a great stress release. You can do it while watching tv or while you are on the phone. These are for a swap on the group "Art For the Creative Mind".

My Handsome Men ATCs

With these atcs I tried my hand at soot or smoke stamping. I held 8.5x11 cardstock over a candle flame that is smoky. Moved it around until I got a marble affect on the paper. You don't have to be so close to the flame, just enough for the smoke to spread out over the paper. On one atc I stamp the image of these two men right into the smoked area and it gave it a negative image. The other one, I stamped the same image using a grey Stampin'Up Classic Ink pad. I sprayed both with a fixature to seal the smoke to keep it from smudging. Then I embellished them. Enjoy

My first Steampunk

This is my first attempt at Steampunk. My dh was wondering where is watch went. No..just kidding. It's been an adventure. Using a small Altoid tin for the base and then just started building. I hope my partner likes it.

Doll came in the mail today

From our doll swap I received this cute doll from Ct. Isn't she cute? Her body is a large jigsaw puzzle piece. Great idea. Thanks Ct. I love this swap.

Pretty Mail

Here is my cute Alice In Wonderland Postcard I received from Linda C. I love that rabbit stamp and the cat with those big eyes. To cute. Thanks Linda.

Just for today

I'm hoping to be able to get back to doing the blog challenges next week. I miss them. They are so fun to do and you meet so many nice people along the way. Today I'm going to work on some cards that I need for June and July birthdays. I don't post them here. I post them on my other blog Art For the Creative Mind. This computer keeps me on too long. I need to go and do some creating now. Hope to have something to show by the end of the day. I also should be working on the Susi Blu workshop I signed up last month. I just can'ts seem to get started. Step one: Get out your journal and pencil. Have a great creative day.

Well I'm back home. Not quite in my studio yet though. Still have some work to do in there to get things back to where they should be. We had a great holiday in Branson, Missouri. If you haven't been there, check it out. We saw so many great live shows, dinner cruise, dinner shows and lots of great food. The shows were lively, fun and they were not crude or rude. Just clean enjoyment. I recommend it and we will definitely go there again. Now it's time for me to get out my paper and glue and start playing. I've miss everyone out there in blog land.
